California Honeydrops play Hopmonk Sebastopol on Friday, Jan. 19th.

This week is filled with over 20 chances to see a live show at one of the fantastic venues in Sonoma County.  Here’s a taste of what’s going on.

Thursday, Jan. 17

Sophistafunk: The band blends funk and hop-hop together with a fusion of the 60s, 70s, and 80s era music. The band plays at 10 p.m. following Koobi Fora at 8:30 p.m. and DJ’d music by Chango B in between sets. $10. 8:30 p.m. Aubergine. 755 Petaluma Ave., Sebastopol. auberginebarandcafe.com

Rushad Eggleston: It’s cello with an edge when Rushad Eggleston rocks out on the normally mellow instrument. Check the following video of Bach vs. Eggleston. If you’re impatient, skip to 4:01 to really see what this musical genius is capable of. But trust me, you’ll want to see the whole video, and then catch his show at Last Day Saloon on Thursday night. He’ll be joined by Lily Henley & Friends. $10. 8:30 p.m. 120 Fifth St., Santa Rosa. lastdaysaloon.com

Friday, Jan. 18

The Temptations (top) and Four Tops (bottom) of today.

The Temptations & The Four Tops: Before there were boy bands, there were classic soul bands like these that perfected the art of carrying a tune while performing a synchronized spin and slide. With one surviving member in each band, the classic groups of singers each perform songs from the past and honor the legacy of the groups from the 1960s. $45-$85. 8 p.m. Wells Fargo Center. 50 Mark West Springs Rd., Santa Rosa. wellsfargocenterarts.org

Linda Tillery & The Cultural Heritage Choir: This group encompasses the sounds of the south with just the sounds of their voice and a powerful percussion backbone. $20-$25. 8 p.m. Sebastopol Community Cultural Center. 390 Morris St., Sebastopol. seb.org

DECADES: The cover band has gathered quite the fan following as they perform lively renditions of favorite artists, from Chuck Berry to Katy Perry. $5 Cover. 21-plus. 9:00pm. Flamingo Hotel 2777 4th Street & Farmers Lane.
