Cover band Love Fool performs at Hopmonk Sebastopol this Saturday.
From locally famous to just getting started, it’s a great week to catch some live, local music.
Thursday, Jan. 10
Men of Exotica: Things are heating up at Maverick’s. This Thursday is ladies night, where no men are allowed in the club before 10:30 p.m. – unless they are stripping. From 7-9 p.m. is the vendor fair, including Scentsy, Partylight, Passion Parties, Jewelry, Purses, Clothes and more. Then the hot eye candy from Men of Exotica take the stage at 9 p.m. for your viewing pleasure. At 10:30 p.m., the club re-opens to the public for their regular Thursday night format. $15/21+, $20/18+. Maverick’s. 397 Aviation Blvd Suite E., Santa Rosa. maverickssantarosa.com
BONOBO: UK’s electronic DJ, aka Simon Green, is one of the jUkE jOiNt’s favorite acts to bring to Hopmonk – and with no wonder. The guy is a trip hop genius when it comes to funking things up in a downtempo mixology. $25. 21-plus. 9 p.m. Hopmonk Sebastopol. 230 Petaluma Ave., Sebastopol. hopmonk.com/sebastopol
Grace in the Woods: The band has an earthy, mournful sound that’s near addictive within the notes of the guitar, and the harmonies of the Neem Wood and Grace Evans. The Sebastopol indie band plays at 9 p.m., sandwiched between The Sad Tires at 8 p.m. and White Wall at 10 p.m. $5. Aubergine. 755 Petaluma Ave., Sebastopol. auberginebarandcafe.com
Friday, Jan. 11
Beso Negro: The gypsy swing band takes to the stage at Last Day Saloon, performing americana rock with flair. $8-$10. 21-plus. 8:30 p.m. 120 Fifth St., Santa Rosa. lastdaysaloon.com
Wining ‘Over Easy’: Listen to the country and bluegrass sounds of band Over Easy at Vino di Amore Tasting Room and Lounge in Cloverdale. The central location of VIno makes it a prime starting off point for date night, as it is waking distance to several art galleries, the downtown Plaza, and the movie theater. No cover. 7:30-10 p.m. 105 N. Cloverdale Blvd. vinodiamore.com

McKenna Faith (Beth Schlanker/PD)
McKenna Faith: Sonoma County’s sweetheart, and now a Nashville recording artist, performs an all-ages show at Hopmonk, opened by Steve Taylor-Ramirez. $10. 8:30 p.m. Aubergine. 755 Petaluma Ave., Sebastopol. auberginebarandcafe.com
A Cappella for a Cure: The 3rd and final festival to raise money to benefit City of Hope features Maria Carrillo’s Jazz Choir, as well as many other notable acts from around the Bay Area. $8-$13. 8 p.m. Maria Carrillo Performing Arts Center. 6975 Montecito Blvd., Santa Rosa. facebook.com/aforacure
The THUGZ: I bet you know exactly what kind of music these guys play. If you said rock, blues, and country, you’d be right. The THUGZ (aka tribal hippie underground zone) provide positive vibes with music that elicits a feel for the 60s, thanks to their musical influence from a foggier brained time. $8. 21-plus. 8:30 p.m. Hopmonk Sebastopol. 230 Petaluma Ave., Sebastopol. hopmonk.com/sebastopol
Eric McFadden Trio: Former touring musician with George Clinton’s Parliament/Funkadelic, Eric McFadden and friends unleash songs that span numerous genres. $10/$12. 21-plus. 8:30 p.m. Hopmonk Novato. 224 Vintage Way, Novato. hopmonk.com/novato
Slow Down: Maverick’s presents a hip-hop event, hosted by Clyde Carson, and featuring Slow Down, Benni Boom, Don Cha Noah, Victoria Bratton, and many more. 18-plus. $15 door if 21+, $20 for 18+, $10 pre-sale all. 9 p.m. Maverick’s. 397 Aviation Blvd Suite E., Santa Rosa. maverickssantarosa.com
