The simple truth is, there are a lot of people braving the streets right now who lack the proper attire to keep them warm. And several bands are getting together to help remedy this situation.

On Saturday, December 29th, Radio Active is hosting the Sunday Gravy Third Annual Winter Coat Drive & Funk Fest at Aubergine After Dark (755 Petaluma Ave., Sebastopol). Playing that night will be Sunday Gravy with special guest KellytheSinger, laying down a healthy dose of funk, soul, and jazz to get you up and on the dance floor. The bands will be collecting your donations of winter coats and other warm gear that will be distributed through the Living Room and Open Table shelters in Santa Rosa.

Also lending their support are Rebel Lion Productions, Casa Rasta, WBLK, Ra-Weiya Design, Zulu Nation, Live Musician’s Coop, Reprezent Clothing, Sabrina Krauss, Cafe Aquatica, Sooz Music, Aubergine Vintage Emporium, Church of The Incarnation, The Living Room, Auric Blends, and The Rad Life.

Doors open at 8 p.m. and music starts at 9 p.m. Admission is $5 before 10 p.m., and $10 after. All ages are invited to attend. And of course, it’s encouraged that you bring something warm to donate to those in need.
