KRSH and Hopmonk Tavern present a free evening concert 6 p.m. Thursday, November 29th featuring Milo Greene, an indie band who are blazing hot after the recent release of their debut self-titled album.
Void of a lead singer, the quintet specializes in 4-part harmonies, each member a distinct voice in a band with lots of promise. The band began in 2009 when UC Irvine classmates Robbie Arnett, Andrew Heringer, and Marlana Sheetz began playing together in the Northern California foothills. They later moved down to Southern California (where Arnett already lived), adding Graham Fink and Curtis Morrero and continuing the DIY music project as they played various West Coast locations.
The band is named after their fictitious booking manager they created out of thin air – a British man who is well versed in art and history, stylishly clad in 3-piece suits, and harbors eclectic tastes in music. Why? Because an indie band doing it themselves needed someone to call on their behalf when booking shows.
“I think he would be a big fan of our music,” member Arnett mused.
Fellow bandmateFink interjected, “But only because he’s very vain.”
Catch a preview of the band on Tuesday night when they play The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
