Matt Nathanson and Noah Guthrie perform live this Friday, Nov 2 at the Green Music Center.
This Friday, Nov 2 at 8 p.m. Matt Nathanson and Noah Guthrie will be performing live at the Green Music Center at Sonoma State.
You may know of Matt Nathanson, the folk singer with a bunch of hits gracing the radio right now that include “Modern Love”, “Come On Get Higher”, and “Faster”. With a few indie records that date back to 1993, the SF native finally hit it big with the 2003 release of ‘Beneath These Fireworks’, an album with songs featured on Scrubs, One Tree Hill, and Joan of Arcadia, to name a few. Since then, Nathanson’s success has only gotten ‘higher’, most recently with the platinum-selling song “Come On Get Higher” and the release of his latest album “Modern Love”.
But while it’s Matt Nathanson’s performance most people are anticipating at the GMC, his opening act is one you won’t want to overlook. Noah Guthrie (aka “Only 1 Noah”) has become an instant YouTube celebrity, thanks in part to his folked up rendition of LMFAO’s “Sexy and I Know It”. The video has garnered over 13.5 million hits, and has even been copied as a performance on the X Factor. Noah has gone on to perform amazing original renditions of hits like Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used to Know”, Taylor Swift’s “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together”, and “Blackbird” by the Beatles, just to name a few. He sings a new song every few weeks, which you can check out on his YouTube channel at youtube.com/user/only1noah or his website at noahguthrie.com.
Tickets to the show are $30 each, while they last. The Green Music Center is located at 1801 E. Cotati Ave., Rohnert Park. More information can be found at gmc.sonoma.edu.
