It’s a sign of the times when the Halloween haunts have been scared away. A few terrifying haunted houses still remain, however, and are sure to leave you shaking to the core.  Enter one of these horrific screamfests…..if you dare…and keep them haunting you for years to come.

Dr. Evil’s House of Horrors: As of October 1st, the historical J’s Amusement Park in Guerneville plays the haunted host to Dr. Evil’s House of Horrors, revealing tales of murder and madness.  Oct 27 & 28 will be two nights of spooky partying with entertainment by band Hell69.  Open Fridays and Saturdays.  $10. 12-plus.  16101 Neeley Rd., Guerneville.  doctorevilshouseofhorrors.com

Wicked West Ghost Town:  2012 is the year when Rosa swears she’ll find her revenge on Wild Bill and his monsters.  If you attend, be warned – do whatever it takes to survive her wrath.  This year’s haunt includes a wicked light show around the ghost town facade, a haunted house maze, and terrifying effects that will keep you awake for weeks.  October 17th thru October 31st, Sun. – Thur. 7:00pm to 9:00pm, Fri. – Sat. 7:00pm to 10:00pm, Closed Oct. 22 and 23.
