Midori & Ezra Boy headline an event filled with talented indie bands this Friday at the Arlene Francis Center
This Friday, October 5 at 7 p.m., several indie bands will give an alt/pop performance at the Arlene Francis Center in Santa Rosa, treating you to a non-metal, non-hardcore, totally delicious blend of indie music bound to take you to a whole new dimension of musical excellence.
Midori & Ezra Boy: The group has a 70s influenced vibe to them with the edgy vocals of lead singer Midori Longo backed by an energetic keyboard and unbridled guitar riffs who get the crowd to their feet every time. ezraboymusic.com
Stomacher: Like something you’d hear off the old Live 105, you know, when they used to play modern rock on a constant rotation. These guys have an almost Radiohead sound to them with a mixture of alt/indie tunes, a beautiful chaos of instruments, and deep lyrics sung, at times, in a sexy falsetto. facebook.com/stomachermusic
These Paper Satellites: They started out as a side project before evolving into something of their own, taking on the darker side of alt-rock and running with it. They’ll also be celebrating a preview of their new EP at this alt/pop extravaganza. facebook.com/thesepapersatellites
Fear the Few: A band made up of a few members of Salty Devito, who is sure to have sounds reminiscent of the already sultry sounds the original band possesses.
Moura: An acoustic performance, just a guy and his guitar, singing naked lyrics while cloaked in the richness of an unplugged guitar. mouraband.tumblr.com
Ian Johnson: He’ll be backed by the members of Manzanita Falls, introing some new stuff he’s been working on.
Pre-sell tickets are only $8 ($9.27 total after service fee) if bought at Brown Paper Tickets, and will be $12 at the door. The show is all ages, beer & wine served to 21+ with ID. The Arlene Francis Center is located at 99 6th St., Santa Rosa.
