Brandi Carlile tells The Story at the Wells Fargo Center for the Arts this Saturday.

Take some high energy ska from Fishbone, add in some amazing vocals from Brandi Carlile, and top it off with the sound of the steel guitar from Steve Kimock, and you have a recipe for a really great weekend of music in Sonoma County.  Here’s all that’s going on locally:

Wednesday (Aug 22)

h2hotel’s Spoonbar: Adam Theis of the Shotgun Wedding Quintet is giving a rare North Bay appearance with his Mega Quartet as they perform high energy instrumental jazz with original and cover tunes. Thursday (Aug 23)

McNear’s Mystic Theatre: Legendary steel guitarist Steve Kimock performs with his band, speaking to the masses through the compelling, often mesmerizing licks of his guitar. Hopmonk Tavern: If you’re looking for a dance party with heavy beats and a ton of soul, the Afromassive funk party will have you stomping the dance floor till closing. Aubergine: Kicking off the night is Blueshift, an alternative rock band from San Francisco with a grungy edge to their sound.
