In its 4th year, The Great Petaluma Treasure Hunt has once again teamed up with Mastermind Treasure Hunts to create a mind-boggling scavenger hunt that is meant to stretch the imagination with its information-based game.  Treasure hunters armed with a map and a list of clues will be taking to the streets of Petaluma this Saturday, August 18th, on a race from landmarks, parks, and parts of the city that might be otherwise overlooked.

A benefit for the Butter & Eggs Day parade, The Great Petaluma Treasure Hunt closely resembles a mashup of The Da Vinci Code and The Amazing Race.  For the past several weeks, teams of 4-8 members have been signing up to take part in this annual tradition, gathering their wits and sense of adventure under a clever name and planned out costumes, hoping to be one of the first to cross the finish line and collect one of the prizes for finishing in the top 3, or for merely the best team name or costume.

Signups are still being accepted at $20 per person (11-under free) until noon on Friday, August 17th.  After that, the price goes up to $25 and can be purchased at the event itself from 1-2pm.  All tickets will be held at Will Call at the event.

The race begins in Theatre Square of downtown Petaluma at 2pm and will go until 5pm.  For tickets and information, visit petalumadowntown.com or call 762-9348.
