Summerfest
The 1st Friday celebration brings live music, arts, crafts, food, and friendsto Railroad Square, kicking off your weekend right. Headlining the musical entertainment is Kingsborough and The Dustin Saylor Band. 6-9pm. FREE. 4th St (between Davis & Wilson), Santa Rosa. summerfestrailroadsquare.com

Tour Sunset Magazine’s Idea House
The house that Sunset built is offering tours in Healdsburg.  Used as an idea house for the magazine, it embodies the ‘Sunset lifestyle’ giving you an in-person view of what will show up in the magazine.  Tours are being conducted every weekend through September 9th, with the first preview tour starting this weekend.  10am-5pm Fri-Sun.  $17 general, $15 Fridays for seniors, and benefits the Healdsburg Animal Shelter.  Kids 12 & under free.  Visit sunset.com/home/idea-houses for more information.

Eggs on the River
Instead of edible eggs, it’s the Big Green Egg that will be the guest of honor – a large green dome-shaped BBQ for use in this annual cooking competition between chefs, amateur to egg-spert. 10am-4pm. $20/person, $35/couple. winecountryeggs.com

Petaluma Music Festival
The festival’s main purpose is to raise money to keep music in the schools of Petaluma, but its also a great chance to hear some 17 awesome bands all in one place, nosh on some choice wine country eats, sip a bit of wine, and even let the munchkins play in the new kids area.  11am-4pm.  $30-35 general.  $15 students.  Sonoma-Marin Fairgrounds.  175 Fairgrounds Dr, Petaluma.  petalumamusicfestival.org

Aug 4-5
2nd Annual SOFA Art Walk
26 different art studios in a one-block radius open up their studios to showcase their different medias of art that’s for sale – from photos to paintings and more.  Admission is free.  11am-5pm.  SOFA (South of A Arts District) – South A St & Sebastopol Ave, Santa Rosa.  sofasantarosa.com
