Jim Belushi and the Sacred Hearts band.

Jim Belushi has two reasons for coming to Sonoma County next Friday:

First, he’s performing with the Los Angeles blues band Sacred Hearts in a live concert at the Sonoma County Fair. And second, he wants to return to Yanni’s Sausage in Penngrove, which he discovered on a recent visit here.

“Oh my God, I stuffed myself like a fool,” said the actor, singer and comedian of his drop-in at the tiny sausage shop. “I’m counting on coming back.”

A 25-year resident of Los Angeles, and still loyal to the sports teams in Chicago where he lived and worked before that, Belushi is finding that he likes it up here.

“I’m discovering Northern California more and more,” he said.

Big, loud and “having a ball,” Belushi — younger brother of the late comedy star John Belushi — believes in living large.

The Sonoma County Fair is roughly half-way through its run, ending Aug. 12, but next week is when the fair’s concert schedule heats up.

The entertainment lineup includes country star Martina McBride on Tuesday, San Francisco super band Third Eye Blind on Wednesday and Miranda Cosgrove, of Nickelodeon’s hit series “iCarly,” on Thursday. Belushi closes the four-night run of big-name concerts in the Chris Beck Arena.
