Farm to Table Dinner at Quivira Winery

Saturday, July 28: The Second Annual Pacific Islander Festival happens in Rohnert Park on Saturday  from 10am to 8pm at 500 City Center Drive (City Center Plaza). The event features a lineup of homestyle Polynesian, Filipino and Hawaiian foods including lumpia, Kalua pork, Spam Musubi, barbecue, lupulu and adobo. Plus, Willie Bird’s Turkey, shave ice, cotton candy and more. The event is a fundraiser for Rohnert Park Youth Warriors Football and Cheer. Free admission. Saturday, July 28: Wine, women and shoes.
Okay, we hate to buy into cliches, but darn it all, shoes are just programmed into a woman’s psyche.
Because no matter how much chocolate you eat, your shoes size never changes. Napa’s Krug Winery celebrates great wines from Krug, Peju, Clif Family Winery, Tres Sabores, Cakebread…and on and on, with cute kicks, frocks and accessories to benefit Napa’s Emergency Women’s Services. Adding to the fun, 15 handsome local gents are up for auction as your “Sole-mate” for the afternoon, showering you with complements, adoration and studliness. Judges will roam the marketplace to find Best in Shoe winners (so wear you best). Marketplace and tasting from 1-3:15pm, program, auction and fashion show from 3:30-5pm. General admission is $175. Saturday, July 28: Quivira Summer Farm-to-Table Dinner
Guests get an in-depth look at Quivira’s Biodynamic farming practices and winemaking, complete with a multi-course wine and food experience prepared by local Diavola Chef, Ciara Meaney, using produce from the winery’s 1-acre garden. Meet Farm Manager Andrew Beedy, visit Ruby the resident feral pig and learn about biodynamic winegrowing philosophies from Winemaker Hugh Chappelle. $125 per person /  $105 Queue members

Sunday, July 29: Making a Chicken Last; Butchering Techniques for the Home Cook with Marissa Guggiana
Inspired by a “nose-to-tail” approach to butchery, Marissa Gugianna, author of Primal Cuts, Cooking with America’s best Butcher’s, and co –founder of The Butcher’s Guild, a “fraternity of meat professionals”, will demonstrate a variety of butchering techniques in preparing a chicken including Brick Style, Half-Boneless, and Chicken Galantine. Guests will then enjoy their self-prepared dish, with roasted potatoes and vegetables. Ramekins, 40 W. Spain St., Sonoma 11a.m.-2p.m., $80).

Sunday, July 29: 2nd Annual Cajun Fest BBQ on the Lawn!
Featuring the Grammy award winning Beausoleil Quartet avec Michael Doucet, the most esteemed Cajun group in music and the hot roots sound of Tom Rigney and Flambeau. Bring your family and friends for great BBQ, dancing and music on the lawn. Gates open a 3pm, music starts at 4pm, Rancho Nicasio Restaurant & Bar, Nicasio, CA $20.
