Vive La France! Saturday is Bastille Day and there are many fun and delicious ways to feel French.

The fete begins at Costeaux Bakery (417 Healdsburg Ave., Healdsburg) at 7 a.m. and continues throughout the day, with baking and pastry demonstrations, French wine specials, fencing demonstrations, a unique version of petanque and activities for kids, including Eiffel Tower cookies to decorate and moustache face painting. There will, of course, be appearances by the Costeaux Can-Can Dancers and Marie Antoinette. Violist Torin Berman and Due Zighi Bachi will provide live music. Admission to the festivities is free.

Bistro 29 (620 Fifth St.), the oh-so-French bistro in downtown Santa Rosa, is offering a prix fixe menu for $49 a person, with a wine pairing option for $30. The menu begins with an amuse bouche followed by oysters on the half-shell with cider mignonette. Next comes a buckwheat crepe with a seafood salad, preserved lemons and micro-greens. Following the crepe is sauteed sole Armoricaine with cauliflower fondue, lobster-Cognac sauce and an artichoke and sea bean salad. Dessert is a sweet crepe with roasted peaches, Chantilly cream and raspberry sauce. For reservations, call 546-2929 or visit bistro29.com.

More crepes: On Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. throughout the summer, you can enjoy lunch from Ultra Crepes at the Sonoma County Museum. Last year’s al fresco lunches, which take place in the midst of the outdoor sculpture garden, were quite popular. The museum is walking distance from the center of downtown and it is a lovely place to meet friends.  The museum is located at 425 Seventh St. in Santa Rosa.
