Somewhere between Ray Lamontagne, Kings of Leon, and G-Love is the laid-back rock of Citizen Cope (aka Clarence Greenwood).  Combining the backbeats of surfer hip-hop and a more mellow vibe in some crooning tunes, the indie charts rising artist bares his soul in his lyrics while giving you an earthy beat to bob your head to.

This Thursday (June 21), Citizen Cope is performing at a free afternoon concert at Hopmonk Tavern (230 Petaluma Ave, Sebastopol), courtesy of KRSH and Dean Biersch (co-founder of Gordon Biersch Brewery).    He has some new tunes to introduce, as he’s just about to release his latest album on July 17th.  But you can be sure to hear some of his past decade’s favorites as well.  The concert starts at noon, but we suggest you get their early because it’s likely this will be a popular show.
