A community art project is asking for "canned" representations of Rohnert Park, Penngrove, or Cotati by February 24th

A local grassroots movement is sending the call out for participants in their latest community project.  PROJECT HERE, a group dedicated to creating commonality among the members of each town in Sonoma County, is asking for residents of Cotati, Rohnert Park, and Penngrove to “fill a jar with something, anything, that represents their contribution to our town’s rich cultural tapestry.”  Use symbolism, creativity, moxy, pride….anything that shows others why where you live is where you call home.

Example of a Canned Community from Project Here's past installation for Petaluma

This isn’t the first time they’ve crafted such an artistic instillation.  In 2010 they held the same kind of project, receiving dozens of filled jars representing Petaluma.  You can view those canned creations HERE.

If you would like to participate in the What Are We Made Of exhibit, fill a jar with the things that represent Cotati, Penngrove, or Rohnert Park to you and bring them to The Redwood Cafe by February 24th.  A reception showcasing the community jars will be held at Redwood Cafe on March 10th from 5-7pm.
